Diogo Reis
Born on March 20, 2002, in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, Diogo Reis emerged as one of the most promising athletes of his generation in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He began his journey in 2012, inspired by his older brother and supported by a close-knit community that believed in his potential. His first coach, Alexandre, welcomed him into the gym and introduced him to the fundamentals of the sport. Just two years later, Diogo found his lifelong mentor in Professor Melqui Galvão, under whom he has trained ever since.
Unlike many athletes, Diogo did not come from a background in other sports. From the beginning, Jiu-Jitsu was his focus. Through years of dedication, sacrifice, and consistent growth, Diogo built a career that has gone far beyond medals and podiums. For him, the true highlight has been the ability to live off the sport he loves and use it as a vehicle to support his family, friends, and those around him.
Now competing as a black belt in the adult light-feather division, Diogo is known for his dynamic movement and explosiveness. His signature techniques include toreando-style guard passes and sweeps that involve climbing up the leg—skills that blend his agility with his wrestling background. His approach to Jiu-Jitsu is as calculated as it is aggressive, always pushing the pace and looking to dominate his opponents with precision.

Some of Diogo’s top accomplishments include:
- ADCC Champion – 2022, 2024
- IBJJF European Champion – 2025
- IBJJF Pan Champion – 2023
- IBJJF Brazilian National Champion – 2022, 2023
