Piter Frank
Born on March 11, 1985, in São Sebastião (Juquehy), Brazil, Piter Frank is one of the most inspiring names in the Master division today — a living symbol of resilience, late bloomers, and the power of belief.
Piter’s journey in Jiu-Jitsu began later than most. At 24 years old, he stepped onto the mats for the first time in a small room with grass mats in his hometown of Juquehy, training casually with friends. What started as a simple pastime soon ignited a deeper purpose. As he moved to Santos to continue his training, his commitment grew. There, over the course of several years, he earned his black belt and laid the foundation for a career that would take off in the years to come.
Before Jiu-Jitsu, sports had always been a central part of Piter’s life. He poured his energy into soccer and surfing, two passions where he dreamed of going pro — but neither materialized into a career. It wasn’t until he found Jiu-Jitsu that all the pieces began to align.
For 16 years, Piter competed relentlessly, giving everything to the sport — but a world title remained just out of reach. Then, in 2022, everything changed. Piter became a double gold World Master Champion, conquering both his weight division and the absolute. It was more than just a win—it was a breakthrough. “It felt like a dream,” he recalls. That moment not only crowned him a world champion but marked the beginning of a new chapter. After that, his career soared.
He followed it up with back-to-back IBJJF World Master titles in 2023 and 2024, secured the BJJ Stars Master Belt in 2024, and headlined super fights on UFC Fight Pass and ADXC in Paris. In total, he has become a 4x Pan American Champion and 4x European Champion, solidifying his legacy in the Master divisions.

Known for his explosive and dynamic style, Piter’s trademark technique is the flying armbar—a move that has become synonymous with his name. “I have a lot of ease jumping on arms,” he says. “So I’m always looking for that moment—it’s who I am on the mats.”
Outside Jiu-Jitsu, Piter is a certified personal trainer, a profession he worked in before going full-time in the sport. And while he can’t imagine life without competition, his commitment to fitness and discipline has always been central to who he is.
For Piter, a champion’s mindset comes down to mastering the mental game. “It’s about not letting yourself be defeated by your own mind. The champion always sees his victory. He works hard to be ready and delivers when it counts.”
From a small room in Juquehy to world titles across the globe, Piter Frank’s story is proof that perseverance, heart, and belief can rewrite any path—even when the dream takes a little longer to arrive.
