Felipe Goulart
Born on December 4, 2007, in Lages, Santa Catarina, Brazil, Felipe Goulart is a light-featherweight purple belt and one of the most promising talents of the new generation of Jiu-Jitsu athletes.
His journey in Jiu-Jitsu began at a small gym near his house, training with school friends purely for fun. Although he didn’t come from a background in other sports, it didn’t take long for Felipe to find his purpose on the mats.
The turning point of his career came when he made the life-changing decision to move to California to train under the guidance of the Mendes Brothers and alongside athletes like Tainan Dalpra. It was a bold move—he didn’t speak English, didn’t know anyone, and left behind family and friends in Brazil. But it was this leap of faith that marked the beginning of a new chapter. He describes it as a moment of fear and excitement, but one that made him feel alive and driven to chase greatness.
Known for his sharp and relentless guard game, Felipe’s signature technique is the K-guard—a position he began mastering as a green belt and continues to dominate with today in both gi and no-gi. He’s used it successfully across every major tournament stage, including his performances in open-class divisions at the World Championships.

Some of Felipe’s top accomplishments include:
- 3x IBJJF World Champion (Blue & Purple Belt)
- 3x IBJJF Pan American Champion (Blue & Purple Belt)
- 2x IBJJF European Champion (Blue Belt)
- 4x IBJJF World No-Gi Champion (Blue Belt)
- 3x IBJJF Pan No-Gi Champion (Blue Belt)

Off the mats, Felipe finds balance by spending time at the beach, surfing, reading, and studying the art of coaching and leadership—especially from mentors and inspirations like Tainan Dalpra and Guilherme Mendes.
For Felipe, a champion’s mindset is defined by giving your absolute best every single day, no matter the circumstance. Whether it’s training, coaching, or simply reading a book, he believes champions push themselves hardest on their worst days, and never lose sight of their goal—being number one, regardless of the price or the pain.
